NVIDIA released the resizable bar on March 30th, 2021. The Resizable BAR uses features of PCI Express to essentially boost in-game performance. This only works on select games. As of today, it is only available on NVIDIA 30 Series graphics cards. How can you use Resizable Bar? First, check you have compatible hardware. Rez-Bar is compatible on all Ryzen 5000 Series chips and AMD 500 Series motherboards. It works on AMD 400 Series motherboards which support Zen 3 Ryzen as well. In terms of intel, it works on 10th and 11th gen, as well as Z490, H470, B460, and H410 motherboards. Check your motherboards manufacturer for a BIOS update. Secondly, you will want to update your drivers (assuming you have a 30 Series card) to the latest one. You may then have to update your VBIOS for your GPU. This can be done on the manufactures website of your specific card (such as EVGA, Gigabyte, Etc.). We will provide a link below to go to NVIDIA’s direct website to obtain detailed instructions.
Resizable BAR works by using PCI-E technology. It dynamically expands the GPU memory to transfer textures, shaders, etc. It works in together with your CPU to accomplish this. It allows the CPU to access the entire frame buffer as well as transfer two frames together. Without Rez-Bar, these frames would have been queued and done one at a time.
Due to recent global stock issues with NVIDIA 30 Series (and GPUs in general), Supernova Gaming may be low on stock on these graphics cards. If you do not see an NVIDIA 30 Series card in our configurator, please email Support@SupernovaGamingPC.com with questions regarding ordering one. (As of 3/31/2021). Thank you.
